Evacuee's autistic son, 21, found safe, sound

Michael Kehlor, the missing son of a woman who was among the Louisiana evacuees in an American Red Cross Shelter in Laurel, has been found, a state mental health worker said.

Sharoyn Kehlor of River Ridge, La., said earlier this week that she had not seen her son, who is 21 and autistic, since Aug. 26.

Her son's group home in Kenner, La., had evacuated the Friday before Hurricane Katrina struck and his mother lost an emergency contact number for him when she was evacuated.Erin Ferguson, who works with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health in Newton, said in an e-mail to The Clarion-Ledger on Friday that she found Michael Kehlor with the help of a woman with the Louisiana Office of Mental Health.
