Boy Scout Camp in MS to Provide Temporary Shelter to Families of Developmentally Disabled

A Boy Scout Camp in Yocona, Toccopola, Miss., is offering to provide temporary emergency shelter to families who have children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. The camp has a total of 350 beds. The cabins will sleep eight people. Each group of four to five cabins has a bathhouse. There is a large, commercial kitchen and dining hall available. A very good GFCF cook from Hawaii has offered to help cook, etc.

Contact the National Autism Association toll free at 866-622-6733, if you have information on families with children who have a developmental disability in need of shelter due to being displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

Needed Donations:
Ziploc bags
of all sizes, and large garbage bags. They also need clothes and diapers.
